Medico Waste Disposal is the division of Moconna Pty Ltd set up to collect and dispose of Clinical and Related Waste streams.

Established in 1988, Medico Waste Disposal provides services throughout Greater Gippsland to Southern NSW, the High Country covering Omeo, Dinner Plain, Mt Hotham and Falls Creek and the entire North East Victoria region.

Because Medico Waste Disposal vehicles service clients in the Gippsland region every day, North East Victoria and Southern NSW on a four weekly basis, we offer a prompt and flexible service. Our vehicles are constantly available to deal with any problems promptly and efficiently.

All our company vehicles are licensed by the Victorian Environment Protection Authority for this service. As well as permits and licences for Clinical and Related wastes, Moconna Pty Ltd holds EPA permits and licences for the transport of pharmaceuticals, photographic wastes and organic solvents. We offer an integrated wast management service covering the collection and disposal of all wastes produced in clinical & related areas.

All of Medico’s Service Team Leaders providing the clinical waste service have successfully completed the Victorian Waste Management Association course for handling prescribed waste as well as internal company training.

Moconna is licensed by the EPA to operate a "Schedule 4" premises. Waste material is stored in a refrigerated container until transported to an EPA approved disposal facility. The container store is bunded and connected to the sewer.

All Medico Waste Disposal operations are covered by Moconna's Quality System to ensure that service standards are maintained and continually improved. Scheduling of services, vehicle maintenance, operator training and safety are set out in Quality Procedures. There are specific Work Instructions relating to the Clinical Waste Service and the operation of the sanitiser.
